My name is Genevieve Nicoll and I was born in Brisbane and have lived in Canberra for 11 years. I have loved to sew for as long as I can remember. I started quilting in 2010 and I discovered English Paper Piecing about 6 years ago. It’s a historical quilting technique that traces back to the 1770s. Fabric pieces are basted onto cardboard and then sewn together by hand. Hexagons are featured a lot in this technique.

 

Sewing is very therapeutic for me and I love to create colourful and beautiful hand-sewn items, which will be enjoyed by those who have them.
